Le groupe qui se fait appeler « The Anonymous » a décidé de poursuivre sa lutte contre la secte en lançant le « Project Chanology« .

Petit rappel : l’Eglise de Scientologie a tenté mi-janvier de censurer une vidéo où Tom Cruise, quelque peu fanatique de la secte, nous expliquait les « bienfaits » de la Scientologie. (“C’est un privilège d’être scientologue (…), nous pouvons apporter la paix (…)  nous avons le contrôle sur l’esprit des gens, des drogués, des criminels (…),maintenant il est temps, nous sommes là pour aider…). Suite à cette tentative infructueuse de censure (la vidéo est toujours diffusée sur le net), les responsables de la secte ont menacé de poursuivre les internautes qui diffusaient cette vidéo sur leur site ou blog.

« The Anonymous » ont alors décidé de lancer une guerre sur Internet contre les sites de l’Eglise de Scientologie. Une vidéo est alors apparue sur le web qui expliquait que « la diffusion de vidéo de propagande et (leur) influence néfaste sur ceux qui (leur) font confiance nous ont poussé à faire disparaître (leur) organisation.” The Anonymous ont alors mis en place une attaque sur le principe du déni de service distribué (Distibuted Denial of Service, ou DDoS : il s’agit d’envoyer une énorme quantité de données vers un même site web afin de ralentir voire arrêter les serveurs qui hébergent les sites) .

Seconde étape : seconde vidéo et manifestations

Le groupe a mis récemment en ligne une seconde vidéo (voir ci-dessous) et appelle les internautes à manifester le 10 février prochain dans les locaux de la secte : « Notre but est de démanteler l’Eglise de Scientologie dans sa forme actuelle et de la bouter hors d’Internet (…) Nous savons qu’il s’agit d’un adversaire difficile, et nous sommes prêts pour une longue campagne. »

We want you to know about Scientology’s use of child labor and their gulags. We want you to know about Operation Freakout and Paulette Cooper. We want you to know about Operation Snow White and Scientology’s efforts to infiltrate the government of the United States of America.We want you to know about all of these things that have been swept under the rug for far too long. The information is out there. It is yours for the taking. Arm yourself with knowledge. Be very wary of the 10th of February. Anonymous invites you to join us in an act of solidarity. Anonymous invites you to take up the banner of free speech, of human rights, of family and freedom. Join us in protest outside of Scientology centers world wide. We are Anonymous. We are Legion.
